Mr. Angus Choi joins KPMG Advisory in Hong Kong as a Partner under the Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Advisory pillar. He is a sustainability consultant in ESG consulting, sustainable finance, corporate environmental and socialcompliance assurance, and climate change.
Angus has over 20 years of experience in the sustainability/ESG consultancy industry, specializing in ESG advisory for LPs/GPs at the entity, fund, and deal levels. Since 2018 he has advised over 25GPs to establish and integrate an ESG framework into their fund operations, aligning with the Principles of Responsible Investment (PRI). At the deal level, he has led ESG or EHS due diligence in APAC for bothfinancial and strategic clients. At the portfolio company level, Angus led projects in stewardship and engagement, ESG strategy and KPI setting, materiality assessments, ESG ratings, peer benchmarking, transition plan, and ESG/climate disclosure.
Angus holds a BSc in Environmental Science from the University of Hong Kong in 2001 and a MSc in Environmental Management from the University of East Anglia in 2002. He has been a Certified ESG Analyst® at the European Federation of Financial Analysts Societies (EFFAS) since 2021. He also obtained a Sustainability and Climate Risk Certificate (SCR) issued by GARP and Certificate in ESG Investing issued by CFA in 2022.

- ESG Investment: Established ESG investment frameworks and provided trainings to GPs in line with the PRI for multiple investors or funds invested by multilateral banks, global leading private equities, or state owned investors
- Climate Risk: Advised climate-related risk management framework to fund managers to meet the FMCC disclosure requirements.
- ESG Training: Offered ESG trainings to the investment team of a global asset management firm in APAC, e.g. HKGCF Sustainable Finance certificate, Macquarie Infrastructure team training, Carlyle Board level ESG training, UBS ESG training, SDIC Public ESG forum, and BCSD Taiwan Sustainable Finance Forum
- ESG and Decarbonisation Strategy:
- Advised a global port operator on net zero and science-based target.
- Advised an IDC platform in China. Provided a corporate-wide ESG Strategy for an Infrastructure and Real Estate Fund,
- ESG Due Diligence and Impact Investment: Led over 100 deals for both private equity clients and corporate clients in the past five years
